Black bees are nearly extinct social creatures who champion in cross pollination.
They are the size of your thumb and do not live in a hive with workers and a queen like honey bees, but roam free independently and live alongside their sisters and daughters.
Every summer I watch them hoover away over the acacia forest in the nature reserve outside of Sopron in Hungary, where my love and I built a wooden vacation house from scratch with our own two hands.
Their buzz is ever so peaceful, their spirit inspiring.
